iPhone game spreads contactless card message
By UK CreditCards.com
Barclaycard has targeted iPhone users as part of its ad campaign for its new contactless services.
The credit card provider has employed the help of developers at fishlabs and Dare to produce Waterslide Extreme, a free game that can be downloaded to the phone through the iTunes store.
This application ties in with the Waterslide adverts, currently running on UK TV and online.
Contactless cards work by the customer swiping the products against a special reader and thereby making instant payments, without the need to enter their pin first.
Several retail chains, including Eat and Pret A Manger, are already equipped for these credit card transactions.
Michael Schade at fishlabs commented: "We expect the game to be a great success from the feedback we received from the customer testing.
"It is great to work with a client such as Barclaycard that wants to do something different and fun and we are delighted with what we have produced."
