A contestant in the Celebrity Big Brother house decided to enter in order to clear a £35,000 credit card debt, according to the Daily Mirror.
Glamour model Nicola Tappenden accumulated the balance by purchasing furniture for a flat in London and putting down a deposit for a new BMW, the Daily Mirror reports.
The 27-year-old was so concerned about her overspending that she decided to push for inclusion in the reality television show, for which she will receive a rumoured £50,000.
"I'm almost skint. I've just been treating my cards like they are cash but not realising I am not earning what I once did," she told a friend before entering the house, according to the newspaper.
The former Page 3 girl, who gave birth to her first child in November 2008, is reportedly eager to clear the debt before getting married to Crewe Alexandra footballer Simon Walton.
This year's Celebrity Big Brother is set to be the final instalment, with the house featuring stars such as Vinnie Jones, Stephanie Beacham, Stephen Baldwin and Sisqo.
